The Pine Dragons PTO mission is to promote open communication to parents/guardians and staff at Pine City Elementary School, and we are dedicated to assisting our teachers and students to ensure they maximize their learning experience to achieve their full potential. Pine Dragons PTO assists teachers, holds fundraisers for supplemental education materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction and provides a forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children.
?, Board Chair—The President shall preside over all meetings of the organization and of the Executive Board at which he/she may be present; shall serve as the official representative of the organization; shall perform such duties as may be prescribed in the bylaws or assigned by the PTO or the Executive Board; shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the organization. ?, Fundraising Chair—The First Vice President/Fundraising Chair shall act as an aide to the President and shall perform the duties of the President in the absence or disability of that officer. As Fundraising Chair he/she will work in conjunction with the Fundraising Co-Chair to accomplish all fundraising necessary to meet the financial needs of the organization. This person shall research and present fundraising ideas to the Executive Board. ? Second Vice President/Family Programs Chair—The Second Vice President/Family Programs Chair shall act as an aide to the President and shall perform duties of the President in the absence or disability of the President and the First Vice President. He/she shall work in conjunction with the Family Programs Co-Chair to present programs and special functions to enrich student and family school spirit to be approved by the Executive Board. ?, Treasurer—The Treasurer shall perform such duties as: keeping custody of all the funds, bank statements, and other financial records of the organization; keep a full and accurate account of receipts, expenditures, assets and liabilities; write checks in accordance with the adopted budget; deposit all payments received by the PTO; perform monthly bank reconciliations and present to the Executive Board; insure required tax returns are prepared and filed in a timely manner. Open, Parent Volunteer Coordinator—The Parent Volunteer Coordinator shall recruit volunteers for PTO functions as well as volunteers as needed. This information is provided from the 3 For Me Interest and Promise Forms. The Parent Volunteer Coordinator shall help promote volunteerism in the school, and shall keep a list of volunteers to include e-mail and telephone lists. Open, Teacher Liaison Coordinator—The Hospitality Coordinator shall disseminate any birthday, sympathy, and congratulations cards from the PTO to teachers and staff, as well as students and PTO members, as applicable. The Hospitality Coordinator shall plan and implement teacher and staff appreciation luncheons from time to time and perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Board. Open, Secretary—The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the Executive Board and the organization. The Secretary shall oversee internal and external communication content for the PTO, maintain records of all PTO meetings, compile and distribute the PTO membership for the school year. The Secretary shall maintain the By-laws, keeping them current on all revisions, and providing all officers copies. The Secretary shall handle correspondence, i.e. letters, thank you notes.
